York is surrounded by an ancient wall and is located right where the River Ouse and the River Foss meet. The city was built in 71 AD. This city is a historians dream, with a multitide of interesting landmarks and buildings. Don’t mee York Minster, the biggest cathedral in northern Europe. York Castle has a interesting museum depicting a wild past. The midieval streets are great shopping venues for tourists.
There is the Royal Theatre built in 1744, the Grand Opera House and both have great shows. September features the annual Festival of Food and Drink. Great food and eateries abound here.
